It's been quite a delay in Germany blogs, so I thought it was about time to share about our time in Ireland.
Ireland was such a great trip because we were joined by our wonderful hosts. It was awesome getting to spend time with Ashley and AJ having a blast in Ireland.
Things worth mentioning about Ireland:
-They drive on the "wrong" side of the road. While we didn't do any driving ourselves, it was still strange to see cars driving on the left side of the road.
-The beer was pretty darn good. The first night there we found a pub that we returned to a few times during our visit. They had samplers of beer - and for me not being a big beer drinker, I had quite a bit of it! I'm sure the guys would have something to say about the whiskey as well, but more on that later.

-The music was fantastic! We spent a lot of time in pubs listening to live Irish music. Definitely one of the highlights of the trip!

And last, lest we forget: Jameson and Guinness - the highlights of Ireland
Both tours were awesome. Jameson was a little more traditional, walking through the steps of making whiskey. The Guinness brewery was a bit more tourist-y with a self-paced tour and numerous floors to check out along with a restaurant, and a chance to learn to pour our own perfect glass of Guinness.

Of course both tours came with samples at the end. What I learned - I still don't appreciate whiskey, but if you mix it with ginger ale it's tolerable. And, Guinness is actually pretty darn good! Perhaps liking coffee translates to liking the thick, dark taste of the beer. Not that I think I'll be ordering one anytime soon - it wasn't THAT good to compete with wine!
While there is certainly a lot more to say about Ireland, 5 months later it's hard to remember all the details :) All I know is we would both certainly go back because it was such a great experience!!
